Just because something is the common tourist shot that you see on all the postcards, doesn’t mean you don’t take the picture. This is the classic view of the historic city – looking down the Calle Hernandez Echerre from the Plaza Mejor to the yellow tower of the Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, the symbol of Trinidad. The tower is the only part of the church that dates back to the original construction in 1813. Since that time it has been used as a convent, a parish church, a barricade and a school. It is now the Museo de la Lucha de Banditos (Museum of the Struggle Against “Bandits” or counter-revolutionaries).
